We are a newly formed group of parents seeking increased involvement in decisions affecting the education of our children. Although our origin springs from mutual concerns about recent changes in the Saline Schools' mathematics curriculum, we wish to establish ongoing mechanisms for community involvement in a variety of important administrative decisions.

CoRE mission:

To provide a forum for community involvement in the Saline Area Schools, a forum which encourages administrative decisions responsive to the needs of our students and conducive to educational excellence.

CoRE objectives:

Share information, concerns and ideas among the community: Open discussion and debate among administrators, parents, teachers, students and other interested parties will lead to better decisions and improved education.

Expand community involvement in curriculum planning: The Saline community needs ongoing involvement in curriculum planning and textbook decisions.

Reevaluate mathematics curriculum for grades k-8: Assure consistent implementation of a mathematics curriculum which addresses our specific concerns.

Defer curriculum decisions until community involvement is established: Saline Schools should defer final decisions implementing significant curriculum changes until community involvement is established and incorporated into the decision-making process.
